Dame Zaha Hadid, one of the 20th century’s most innovative designers, has an extraordinary list of awards as trailblazer of firsts for women in architecture.

Her liberated geometric designs earned her the nickname “Queen of the Curve”, but her mantra for designing the fundamental building blocks of success in life speak to our month-long discussion of dreaming.

This week, Womanscape explores the architecture of success. What does this mean and how do we get there? Hadid accepted she would always be an outsider, as a woman in architecture and a British Iraqi. So she designed a life around “believing not only in yourself but that the world was actually worth your sacrifices.”

Hadid’s wisdom digs below accepted notions about the role of confidence for success, and recognizes a higher purpose in the psyche of dream-building. This week’s changemaker, Fintech CEO Sue Britton, embodies this revelation.

WS Changemaker of the Week: Sue Britton

Sue Britton is the Founder of Fintech Growth Strategies (FGS), a company focused on creating value-driven services that meet the needs of customers using innovative technologies. Everything in Britton’s life is about creating value and harnessing the best for individuals and companies.

She knows we don’t have to accept the world as it is. And, this knowledge and enlightenment starts from the inside out for Sue, who has built a career and family life that echo Hadid’s higher calling.
