What If I Could Change the World?

The world is under a microscope and defined by the mathematics of a virus. Doors once open are closed, between countries and people distanced from each other and realities once unquestionable.

But never think for a second that we are powerless. We never have been and never will be. We choose our reactions, our mindset, our resolve. We decide if the suffering from any challenge is in vain.

WS Week Ahead: Photographer Cristina Mittermeier on Changing Mindsets

Last week, Denise Benson’s inspiring story “Revealing Myself in Photography” about the unexpected beauty she discovered behind the camera lens drove her to reframe life and the joys of nature. (See more of her work like this stunning egret at Denise’s Photo Shop.)

This week’s feature, the last in our series “A Lens on Life”, speaks to a similar love and the power of mindset.

We begin with tomorrow’s WS Art Card and bubbles of hope in Papua New Guinea by National Geographic photographer, Cristina Mittermeier.

Global artist and gallerist, Arica Hilton from Hilton-Asmus writes about this Mexican-born artist who lives in Vancouver and travels the world through her lens.

Cristina, who collaborates with her spouse and famed photographer Paul Nicklen, has embarked on a new initiative with automaker Mercedes-Benz. Together, “She’s Mercedes” tackles conservation and the need for female empowerment in helping to shape healing solutions.

On Friday, join Rose for Day 4 of her 7-day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. She shares what it’s like to climb the Barranco Wall before tackling the summit. Consider subscribing to WS’s YouTube channel or social media platforms to enjoy more travel and movie escapes.

Join Rose LIVE next Sunday – April 5th at 12 noon LIVE to hear about the month ahead on WomanScape. April is the month of FREEDOM – filled with freedom fighter stories and a look at their impact on our present-day world.

As part of our WS Cares reminder, consider what it’s like not to have a home to quarantine in. With the rise in unemployment and families struggling to make ends meet, search your local community outreach programs to donate or offer help.

Stay energized, prayerful and positive every day, and be inspired by the positive stories of people changing history for the better.

Artfully yours,

Rose and the WomanScape Team
