Light is one of many paintings by American painter and poet, Akiane Kramarik. Akiane says her work comes from visions shown to her by Jesus, who appeared to her when she was just four years of age.

When Akiane painted the Prince of Peace, a stunning image that looks a great deal like the image on the Shroud of Turin, Akiane’s art agent stole it and refused to return it after locking it in a bank vault.

Akiane, who was born in Illinois in 1994, continues to paint and write poetry related to her visions. Collectors from around the world are quick to snap up her work. Light is a recent painting and wonderful compliment to the redemptive hope that Queen Mary of Scotland prayed for throughout much of her life. As a devout Catholic, Mary suffered many tragedic losses and spent much of her life imprisoned or fearing for her own life. Among Mary’s final words before she was executed in 1587, she said, “In my end is my beginning.”
