Marie Kondo & Clearing the Clutter In Our Minds

Marie Kondo has taken the idea of a tidy home and turned it into a spiritual journey.

During WomanScape’s month-long theme of EXPLORING NEW FRONTIERS, we decided to shake things up.  We’re taking you on a mental holiday, well, sort of.

Just to be clear: it won’t be an exotic destination or even a decadent staycation of joyfully digging through a popcorn bowl while watching Netflix and sipping hot cups of tea (possibly infused with other “juices”).

No, this week we move from “catatonic-couch-Fridays” to a place called mindfulness.  Our WomanScape battle for a clear mind begins with Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing consultant who made Time’s list of the 100 Most Influential people.  We move from her KonMari Method and bestselling book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up to other clutter-clearing gurus and their alternative methods.

Thanks to photojournalist Denise Benson, we take a vacation from the material things that obstruct mental clarity and prevent us from discovering new frontiers and joy in the world.  In our awakening, Denise offers her real-life insights from a recent East Coast move from New England, Connecticut to the West Coast of California.

Join Rose in this short video as she celebrates the clear-minded power of three extraordinary women changing the world.   And, don’t forget to visit our WS Boutique this week to shop for Marie Kondo’s book and other great finds

Be inspired by our women in history and the women making history.  Invite men to support our journeys and share in the path ahead.

“People cannot change their habits without first changing their way of thinking.”

(Marie Kondo)

As always, we’d love hearing from you so drop us a line or send any questions or feature story ideas to Rose@Womanscape.com.

Artfully inspired,

The WomanScape Team
