Each December, as we usher in the holidays and a new year filled with possibilities and hope for the future, history reminds us of truths that are shaped in stories like the ones from Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.  It was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity.  It was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness.

Set against a backdrop of conflict during the French Revolution, Dickens delights in our steadfast human nature. He dares us to hope in times of overwhelming despair. He reminds us to believe in the goodness of humanity and a universe that exists beyond our immediate world.

Our wish at WomanScape is for peace and comfort driven by faith. Whether it rests in religious beliefs or the simplest of joys from family and friendship, this faith helps us celebrate the very best in ourselves, our world and all those who help to make this an eternal season of Light.
